Premises are the places in your operation: a farm, a feedlot, a livestock market, a transport hub, or a slaughterhouse. Each premises record holds a type, a full address (geocoded on the server to map coordinates), and a biosecurity level — and becomes the from/to endpoints for every movement you log.
A premises is the anchor for location-based compliance. You draw its boundary polygon on the map and fill the environmental registry fields (CAR, legal reserve, biome) that feed a printable deforestation-free declaration — the same evidence EUDR and Brazil’s CAR expect.
Use case
Before a farmer can move a mob of steers to the sale yard, both ends need to exist as premises. She registers her home farm and the market once, draws the farm boundary on the map, and sets the biosecurity level. From then on, every movement between them is one tap — and the transit document already knows both locations.
What a premises holds
Type & identity
Farm, feedlot, market, transport hub or slaughterhouse — plus name and any official holding/registry number.
Geocoded address
Enter the address; Farmso geocodes it server-side to map coordinates so it plots correctly.
Biosecurity level
A declared level that ties into quarantine zones and disease-control checks before movements.
Boundary polygon
Draw the property outline on the map — the geolocation evidence environmental rules require.
Environmental / CAR fields
Registry number, legal reserve, biome and land-use data for the environmental-compliance module.
Deforestation-free declaration
A printable declaration generated from the boundary + environmental fields, filed under Compliance documents.
Register a premises
- 1
Open Premises
In the web app sidebar, choose Premises. Existing sites appear on the map and in the list.
- 2
Add a location
Click Add, pick the type (farm, feedlot, market, transport hub, slaughterhouse), name it, and enter the address — Farmso geocodes it for you.
- 3
Draw the boundary
On the map, draw the property boundary polygon and set the biosecurity level.
- 4
Complete environmental fields
Add the CAR / registry number, legal reserve and biome, then generate the deforestation-free declaration.
Manage premises in the field
- 1
Open More → Premises
From the More grid, tap Premises to see your locations, each with a live animal count.
- 2
Create or edit
Tap + to add a site (type, name, address) or open one to edit its details.
- 3
Use it in movements
When you log a movement, the from-premises defaults to your last location; pick the destination from this list.
- 4
Works offline
New or edited premises queue in the Outbox and sync when you are back in range.
You must register both the origin and destination as premises before you can log a compliant movement between them. Set them up once and they are reusable forever.
The boundary polygon and environmental fields power Farmso’s environmental & land compliance module. Official registration/verification with the government registry (SICAR, or an EUDR due-diligence statement) stays external — Farmso prepares the declaration up to that hand-off.
FAQ
Not for a basic movement — a type and geocoded address are enough. But the boundary polygon and CAR fields are what unlock the deforestation-free declaration, so draw them if you sell into EUDR or CAR-regulated markets.
