Product safety & compliance

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Farmso is a software service for livestock traceability and farm management, supplied digitally as a subscription. This page sets out the product safety and compliance position for Farmso in the European Union, together with the trader details required by EU product safety law.

Note: Farmso carries no CE marking and no physical safety labels or markings, because EU marking requirements apply to tangible goods rather than to digitally supplied software.

1. What Farmso is

Farmso is supplied entirely as software: a web application and a mobile application, delivered over the internet and accessed under a subscription. There is no physical product, no packaging, and no hardware shipped to the customer as part of a Farmso subscription.

Because Farmso is not a tangible good, the EU product safety regime for physical products — including CE marking, conformity markings, and printed safety labels or warnings affixed to a product — does not apply to it.

2. Labels and markings

No product safety labels or markings are required for, or applied to, Farmso. Specifically:

  • No CE marking — Farmso is not a physical product placed on the EU market.
  • No conformity or hazard markings — the software presents no mechanical, electrical, chemical or physical hazard.
  • No printed warnings or instructions-for-use labelling — usage guidance is provided in the in-app User Manual at farmso.org/docs.

3. Manufacturer and EU trader

Farmso is published by Petso BV, a company established in the Netherlands. As an EU-established trader, Petso BV is itself the responsible economic operator for the European Union; no separate EU Responsible Person is appointed.

  • Company: Petso BV
  • Registered address: Zijlsterried 39, 9746 PB Groningen, Netherlands
  • Director: Javvad Azam
  • Email: support@farmso.org
  • Telephone: +31 6 24949985

4. Third-party reader hardware

Farmso can optionally connect to third-party RFID, EID and NFC tag readers over Bluetooth or NFC. Petso BV does not manufacture, sell, distribute or import this hardware, and it does not form part of a Farmso subscription.

Each reader is placed on the market by its own manufacturer, who is responsible for its CE marking, conformity assessment, safety labelling and instructions for use. Please refer to the documentation supplied with your reader, and follow that manufacturer’s safety guidance when operating it.

5. Reporting a safety concern

If you believe you have identified a safety issue, defect or risk arising from Farmso, contact us at support@farmso.org or on +31 6 24949985 and we will respond promptly. Where an issue is found to present a risk, we will take corrective action and, where required, notify the competent national authorities.
